Jean Michel Jarre has officially confirmed he will be performing 2 Concerts in Greece, on June 19th & 20th 2001.
As previously reported, the Concerts will be held at the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, an Ancient Amphitheatre in Athens, and will be Charity Concerts in aid of UNESCO, therefore the Concerts will NOT be FREE, and will be Ticket only events. Tickets are not yet on sale, and the exact price of the Tickets are not known at this time, but they are expected to be highly sought after, considering that the Concert Venue only seats around 5,000 people.
The Concerts will last for approximately 2 Hours, and will be split into 2 Parts. The First Part will be performed by ‘THE VIZITORS’ for approximately 45 Minutes, and will feature NEW Tracks not played at ‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’ in Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001. However, Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro has still to confirm whether he will be available to perform with Jean Michel Jarre as part of ‘THE VIZITORS’ at the Concerts.
The Second Part will be performed by Jean Michel Jarre for approximately 80 Minutes, and will feature a NEW Track that Jean Michel Jarre has been asked to compose as a Theme for the Acropolis entitled ‘THE HYMN TO ACROPOLIS & THE ANCIENT GREEK SPIRIT’.
Jean Michel Jarre has indicated that he is in discussions with the Greek Electronic Musician ‘VANGELIS’ to perform a Track together (possibly the Theme for the Acropolis) at the Concerts, but neither Jean Michel Jarre or ‘VANGELIS’ have confirmed that this historic collaboration is going ahead or not…WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
