The Official Press Conference for Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘AKROPOLIS’ Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, has been delayed until June 5th 2001.

The Odeion of Herodes Atticus Box Office in Athens have confirmed that the Cheap Tickets for Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘AKROPOLIS’ Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, will be on-sale from June 1st 2001, the day after the Official Press Conference.

The Cheap Tickets are expected to cost 15,000 Drachmas (about £27), although the Odeion of Herodes Atticus Box Office in Athens cannot confirm the Ticket Price at this moment in time. However, despite earlier information, the Cheap Tickets can be pre-booked by contacting Mrs Maria Karanagnosti on 0030-1-9282910, or by Fax on 0030-1-9282933

The Official Press Conference for Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘AKROPOLIS’ Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, will take place in Athens on May 31st 2001.

Jean Michel Jarre’s Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, have now been officially named as ‘AKROPOLIS’, and will feature only Jean Michel Jarre Tracks.

Jean Michel Jarre was invited to perform in Athens by Mrs Marianna Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Ambassador and President of ELPIDA (Friends Association for Children with Cancer), last Autumn, with the premise that the Concerts would be for Charity, to help pay for the construction of a Hospital for Children with Cancer in Athens.

The ‘AKROPOLIS’ Concerts are scheduled to take place from 9:00pm-11:00pm (Local Time), and will be televised on Greek and European Television, with also the possibility of a Web-Cast being discussed, although no further details are available at this time.

Originally the Concerts were planned to feature both ‘THE VIZITORS’ and Jean Michel Jarre Tracks, but there will be no Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro present, and no ‘THE VIZITORS’ Tracks performed at the Concerts according to the latest information. However, Jean Michel Jarre will be performing a NEW Track, ‘THE HYMN TO ACROPOLIS & THE ANCIENT GREEK SPIRIT’, that he was asked to compose as a Theme for the Acropolis, at the Concerts.

Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘AKROPOLIS’ Band has been officially confirmed as containing Francis Rimbert, Christopher Papendieck, Laurent Faucheux and Patrick Rondat. However, Jean Michel Jarre’s planned historic collaboration with Greek Electronic Musician ‘VANGELIS’ at the ‘AKROPOLIS’ Concerts, has been officially confirmed as not taking place.

Jean Michel Jarre’s NEW Official Web-Site (www.jarre.net) is to be relaunched within the next couple of weeks, according to the Official Web-Team.

Jean Michel Jarre and the Official Web-Team have negotiated the relaunch of the NEW Official Web-Site, which has been offline since May 2nd 2001, to take place before Jean Michel Jarre’s Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001.

The NEW Official Web-Site relaunch will include an Online Shop, selling rare and exclusive items, including previously unreleased Videos, Filmed & Edited by Nathalie Gallois, of Jean Michel Jarre’s Millennium Concert ‘THE TWELVE DREAMS OF THE SUN’ at the Pyramids in Cairo, Egypt, and the ‘METAMORPHOSES SHOWCASE’ at Johnny Depp’s Man Ray Club in Paris, France.

The Odeion of Herodes Atticus Box Office in Athens have confirmed that the Cheap Tickets for Jean Michel Jarre’s Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, will not be on-sale until at least June 1st 2001.

JARRE UK’s latest information regarding the Cheap Tickets, is that they are likely to have to be bought and collected directly from the Odeion of Herodes Atticus Box Office in Athens, and cannot as this moment in time be pre-booked.

JARRE UK’s advice to anyone who has already booked a Hotel in Athens, is to contact your Hotel and ask them to buy the Cheap Tickets for you as soon as they become available, to avoid obvious disappointment.

Jean Michel Jarre’s NEW Official Web-Site (www.jarre.net) has been taken offline, hopefully temporarily, due to differences between Jean Michel Jarre and the Official Web-Team.

JARRE UK has organised an Online Petition to ‘Bring Back JARRE.NET‘, which will be handed to Jean Michel Jarre in Athens in June, should the differences not be sorted out before this time.

Please show your support for the Official Web-Team by signing the Online Petition. Without an Official Web-Site, information regarding Jean Michel Jarre will be very hard to obtain, and could jeopardise the future of all Jean Michel Jarre Web-Sites, including JARRE UK.
