On December 15th 2002, the Algerian Newspaper L’Expression reported on a planned Jean Michel Jarre Multi-Media Show, scheduled to take place in Hoggar in the Algerian Sahara Desert in 2003.

The Multi-Media Show is being organised by the Deserts Of The World Foundation, as part of a Multi-Artist Show, to promote the Foundation and it’s aim to fight desertification, famine and poverty in the World’s Deserts.

L’Expression describe Jean Michel Jarre’s Multi-Media Show as a “huge Light and Laser Show in the Desert”, probably similar to Jean Michel Jarre’s other Multi-Media Shows in Switzerland and South Africa in 1992.

According to L’Expression, Jean Michel Jarre’s Multi-Media Show will be broadcast in Europe, USA and Japan, but no further details are available.

‘THE MAKING OF THE TWELVE DREAMS OF THE SUN’ Broadcast will be the First Television Broadcast of the Unreleased Documentary anywhere in the World, and is produced by Jean Louis Remilleux, Director of Match TV, and Author of the Official Jean Michel Jarre Biography (1987).

Yesterday’s Dutch Radio Station 4FM Broadcast of Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘AERÓ’ Concert, went ahead as planned, but unfortunately was broadcast at the wrong speed, making the Concert sound very slow!!!

Furthermore, the Broadcast was not the Complete ‘AERÓ’ Concert, starting with ‘OXYGENE 4′, it missed out both the Countdown and the NEW As-Yet-Unreleased ‘AERÓ INTRO’, arguably the best Track of the Entire Concert.

Yesterday, JARRE UK contacted Marc Wielaert of Dutch Radio Station 4FM about the Broadcast. “It was an extremely painful and very embarassing mistake indeed” he confessed, and asked us to publish this statement:-

“Dear Fans of Jean Michel Jarre,

A very painful mistake was made during our production of the ‘AERÓ’ Broadcast. It is still not clear where exactly it went wrong, but clearly the difference between recording at 48KHz and playing back at 44.1KHz made a huge difference. It is no less than astonishing it was not noticed before.

A musical disaster that for some reason was not noticed until the Broadcast itself, thanks to the dozens of reactions in our Mail and on our Web-Site.

I would like to apologise to all of you, and of course to Jean Michel Jarre.

As requested by so many of you, we will re-broadcast the impressive ‘AERÓ’ Concert by Jean Michel Jarre on Sunday 16th March 2003 IN FULL.

To set things straight, we have decided to devote the complete evening - from 20:00 until 00:00 - to the music and talent of Jean Michel Jarre.

Again our sincere apologies.

Jean Michel Jarre’s 26 Year Old Classic ‘OXYGENE 2′ is featured on ‘THE BEST OF CLASSIC CHILLOUT’ (STVCD159), which was released by Sony TV (www.sonymusic.co.uk) on November 25th 2002.

Originally released in 1976, Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘OXYGENE 2′ recently featured on the Citroen C5 Adverts, which were shown across Europe last year, resulting in ‘OXYGENE 2′ featuring on various Compilation Albums in 2001, including ‘VISIONS OF IBIZA’, ‘THE CLASSIC CHILLOUT ALBUM’, and ‘BREAKDOWN: THE VERY BEST EUPHORIC CHILLOUT MIXES 2′.

On December 14th, the Chilean Jarre Tribute band ‘@REA 51′ will be performing a special Jarre tribute concert, consisting of both the entire Oxygene and Oxygene 7-13 albums in sequential order during part 1 of the show. The band will then continue to perform Jean Michel’s Greatest Hits during part 2.

The performance is to be held in the Planetarium at the University of Santiago in Chile, with the concert incorporating large Projections, Lasers, Video and ArKaos animations. The concert starts at 20:30 (GMT -4).
