‘FIRE & ICE’ ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’ REMIX

Over the last fortnight, JARRE UK has been speaking to Jurgen Leyers of Belgian Trance Project ‘FIRE & ICE’, directly by Phone, regarding their Remix of Jean Michel Jarre’s 1982 Classic ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’, released on Vinyl Single in Belgium on September 3rd 2001.

Despite being played heavily in both UK and European Clubs, Jurgen Leyers told JARRE UK that he has been struggling to find any Record Company to release the ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’ Remix as a CD Single, and therefore we asked him if he had approached Jean Michel Jarre himself.

Jurgen Leyers had apparently tried to contact Jean Michel Jarre last year, but had failed to get a response, so JARRE UK arranged with Nathalie Gallois (www.jarre.net) the sending of a Letter from him to Jean Michel Jarre with a copy of the ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’ Remix for him to listen to.

According to Jean Michel Jarre’s Official Web-Site (www.jarre.net), Jean Michel Jarre has agreed to listen to and maybe discuss the possibility of releasing ‘FIRE & ICE’s ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’ Remix as a CD Single in the near future. JARRE UK spoke to Jurgen Leyers today about this recent development, and asked for his reaction to the News, “It’s fantastic News for us, let’s hope Jean Michel Jarre likes our Remix as much as we do”.

The Vinyl Single of ‘FIRE & ICE’s ‘SOUVENIR DE CHINE’ Remix (XTC071) can be purchased from Lightning Records (www.lightningrecords.be), priced at 7.42 Euros, and is also available on the Zillion 11 Compilation CD, priced at 19.81 Euros, and the Zillion 11 Mix CD, priced at 14.85 Euros.
