PRESS CONFERENCE FOR ‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’
The Jean Michel Jarre Concert in Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001, is now officially known as ‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’.
A Press Conference about ‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’ was held in Okinawa on November 22nd by Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro and Governor Inamine of Okinawa, outlining the purpose of the Concert which they described as “expressing the dawn of a new century through a musical performance”.
‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’, a £2 Million Concert, will take place at Tropical Beach, Ginowan Seaside Park, Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001, and is FREE, although the audience size will be limited due to safety reasons.
The First Part of the Concert is scheduled to take place from 6:00pm-8:00pm (Local Time), featuring ‘THE VIZITORS’ (Jean Michel Jarre & Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro), ‘NAMIE AMURO’, ‘BALANCE’, ‘GLOBE’, ‘TRF’, and ‘TM NETWORK’.
The Second Part of the Concert is scheduled to take place from 8:00pm-10:00pm (Local Time), featuring the same above Artists, and is scripted by Arthur C Clarke, which confirms this year’s widespread rumour that Jean Michel Jarre has been working with Arthur C Clarke on a New Year Project, a Project that many people had thought to have been scrapped due to Arthur C Clarke’s poor health.
The Third Part of the Concert, known as ‘DJ NIGHT’, is scheduled to take place from 11:30pm-5:00am, featuring ‘DJ DRAGON’ and other Various Artists. Jean Michel Jarre & Tetsuya ‘TK’ Komuro will not be performing during this Part of the Concert.
‘2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE’ will be televised LIVE by TV Asahi, though it is not clear at this moment in time as to how much of the Concert will be televised. There are also plans for the Concert to be transmitted LIVE over the Internet, but nothing has been confirmed at this stage.
